Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Chamberlain, South Dakota 57325
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Emergency Room & Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 2/16/2026)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday; 3 call shifts required during contract
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit Size: 25 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Med Surg typically 3-4:1 (varies by census and acuity)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2140-$2290
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in acute care
- At least 6 months of Emergency Room and 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past year
- Active Registered Nurse license (South Dakota or compact state)
- BLS (American Heart Association) – required prior to start
- ACLS (American Heart Association) – required prior to start
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required (onsite completion available with approval)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – preferred
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – preferred
- Ability to work independently in both ER and Med Surg settings
- EPIC charting experience preferred (training provided)
- Compliance with Sanford Dress Code: Navy scrubs (no logos), white undershirts or lab coats permitted
ER RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in Emergency Room and Med Surg units
- Float between ER and Med Surg as needed
- Manage up to 5 patients in Med Surg
- Perform general ER and Med Surg procedures
- Utilize healthcare equipment including Sanford One Charge, Pixis, and EPIC charting system
- Complete required training: 1 day ER, 1 day Med Surg, and EPIC computer training
- Work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled
- Fulfill 3 call shifts during the 13-week contract
- Badge in and out at the facility as required
