- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570-$1680
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required within scope and to similar units
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Parking: Free on-site parking
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license or Compact nursing license (required for South Carolina nursing jobs)
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU RN experience (2 years preferred)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Cardiac and neurocritical care experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Ability to float to similar units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Not accepting local travelers (must reside outside 60-mile radius)
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
CVICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU
- Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac and neuro conditions
- Administer emergency medications and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Care for patients on ECMO, ventilators, and advanced cardiac devices (IABP, Impella, Swan Ganz, CRRT)
- Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal, arterial line management, and post-cardiac surgery care
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy and phlebotomy
- Float to similar units as needed to support hospital staffing
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic
- Participate in holiday and weekend rotations as scheduled
