PACU RN Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- At least 1 year of recent PACU nursing experience
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Flu vaccine required
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Compliance with onboarding requirements: background check, health screenings, skills checklist, references
- Reliable car required for local transportation
PACU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams for safe patient transitions
- Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery
- Participate in call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies and procedures
