Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820 - $1950 per week
Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Healthcare Setting: Acute care, Med/Surg Level 7 – Post Surgical Unit
- Shift: 12-hour days (7am–7pm), weekends as scheduled
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Unit Size: 27 beds
- Start Date: November 4, 2025
- End Date: February 3, 2026
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Proficient in blood transfusions, wound vac changes, and PCA pump management
- Experience with heparin drips per protocol
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license required
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-surgical patients, including orthopedic (joint replacements, fractures), GU (TURBT, TURP, bladder biopsy), and general surgical cases
- Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, intake & output, and daily weights using Cerner Soarian EMR
- Collaborate with patient care technicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Administer medications, blood transfusions, and manage wound care devices
- Troubleshoot and manage respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow)
- Float to other Med/Surg, MS-Tele, or IMC units as needed
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the nursing team
- Adhere to navy blue or white scrub dress code
