Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position requiring a WI or compact license and skilled nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a long term care (LTC) skilled nursing facility
- Evening shifts, five 8-hour shifts per week from 14:30 to 22:30
- Patient population includes individuals with multiple comorbidities and acute medical care needs
- Every other weekend coverage is required
- Responsibilities include care for patients with end of life and palliative needs
- Use of specialized equipment such as wound vacs, JP drains, Hoyer lifts, CPAP, and BiPAP machines
- Must wear any solid color scrubs
- Pre-start modules are required and may take up to 5-6 hours for RNs
- Clinicians may not work in this location as a traveler for longer than one year consecutively and must take a six-month break before returning
- Care includes palliative and end of life support, wound care, and use of supportive devices
- Team members will complete mandatory respiratory fit testing before starting
- Holiday shift coverage may be required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of skilled nursing or LTC experience required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency in administering insulin, IV therapy/medications, foley catheter care, neurological assessments, dressing changes, skin/wound assessment, and diabetes monitoring
- Ability to work with colostomy care and COVID patients
- Cannot reside within a 70-mile radius of the facility
- Must be clean shaven for mandatory FIT testing
- Completion of OSHA respiratory clearance prior to start
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
