Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position, requiring 3 years of recent cardiac Cath Lab experience and an active MD or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a hospital Cath Lab setting with two procedure rooms
- Patient population includes cases such as Acute Coronary Syndrome, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, AFIB, and bradycardia
- Procedures performed include percutaneous coronary intervention, pacemaker placement, loop monitors, TEE, and cardioversions
- Equipment used includes balloon pump and IVUS
- Work schedule is 4x10 hour day shifts (07:00-17:30), with one scheduled late shift per week (10:00-20:30)
- On-call shifts are required, typically 10-13 shifts per month, with required 30-minute arrival time during call
- Weekend and holiday shifts required based on department needs and on-call schedule
- Floating required within unit/specialty, including pre-op/PACU
- Responsible for care of patients undergoing cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cath Lab
- Must be able to respond to on-call duties within 30 minutes of notification
- Holiday and weekend coverage required as scheduled
- RTO must be submitted with application and cannot be changed once offered; should not exceed 7 days
- Travelers are prioritized to float within scope of experience
- Former staff must be gone for 12 months to be eligible to return as a traveler
- Former travelers must be away from the health system for at least 6 months before returning
Requirements
- Active MD or compact state RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 3 years of recent cardiac Cath Lab RN experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- CPI certification required, available onsite during orientation
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Must provide two satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (one supervisor/manager and one charge RN)
- Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- Must be able to float within the hospital as needed
