Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: New Haven, Connecticut 06510 (Connecticut nursing jobs)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100 - $2250
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: December 5, 2025
- End Date: March 6, 2026
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); options for 3x12 or 4x12 per week
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Block scheduling available
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: 2 four-hour blocks per 6-week schedule
- Patient Ratio: 1-2
- Charting: Epic EMR
- Scrubs: Provided
- Parking: $125/month
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I Trauma or travel nurse experience)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut (pending license accepted; must be active prior to start)
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS and AWHONN Beginner preferred
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Willingness to work every other weekend and take on-call as scheduled
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- At least 1 professional reference required
- Travel nurses must live at least 75 miles from the facility
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-volume L&D unit (400-500 deliveries/month)
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum care
- Monitor fetal heart rates, administer medications, and manage obstetric complications such as hemorrhage or hypertension
- Provide patient and family education and support throughout the labor and delivery process
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including physicians, respiratory therapists, social workers, and pharmacy staff
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to rapid response/code situations as needed
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards
