Travel Nursing Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Location: Abilene, Texas 79601 (West Texas nursing jobs)
- Start Date: December 1, 2025 (must start 12/1 or 12/15)
- End Date: March 2, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (06:30 – 19:00); includes late days and call rotation
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,860 – $2,000
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Craniotomy and burr hole experience (required for OR nursing jobs)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (CNOR preferred)
- Experience with Allscripts or Altera charting systems preferred
- Previous charge nurse, trauma level I/II, and travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to complete facility drug screen upon arrival (includes Marijuana)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Circulate and/or scrub for diverse surgical procedures: neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, general/robotics
- Demonstrate proficiency in craniotomy and burr hole procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records
- Participate in call rotation and cover late shifts as needed
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients of all ages
- Support a positive, efficient, and adaptable operating room environment
