- Unit: E5 CARD, Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Number of Beds: 40
- Contract Type: Travel Nursing
- Start Date: November 17, 2025
- End Date: February 16, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Dress Code: All white or all navy blue, or white top and navy blue pants
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,880 - $2,020
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Stepdown or Progressive Care nursing experience
- Telemetry experience required
- Proficient with titratable or cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix)
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Strong clinical support skills and a positive, flexible attitude
- Compassionate approach to patient care
- Preferred: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and relief charge experience
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post cardiac procedures
- Monitor and manage patients on cardiac IV medications
- Perform bedside procedures such as cardioversion
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, PCTs, and unit secretaries
- Float to MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding as needed
- Utilize medical equipment such as Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, bladder scanners, and EMR (Cerner)
- Maintain compliance with unit policies and clinical guidelines
