- Unit Details: High-acuity neuro patients; 8 pediatric beds (not assigned to travelers)

Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required)
- Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown RN experience (required)
- Neuro nursing experience (required)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Dysrhythmia Exam (required; study guide provided)
- EPIC EHR experience (preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
- 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital (preferred)
- CCRN, PCCN certifications (preferred)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans
- Safely administer medications according to hospital protocols
- Coordinate patient care and collaborate across clinical departments
- Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support patients and families, acting as a liaison with interdisciplinary teams
- Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure or multisystem trauma
- Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions with confidence
- Conduct hemodynamic monitoring, manage chest tubes, and administer conscious sedation
- Deliver compassionate, relationship-based care to patients and families
- Maintain professionalism, practice self-care, and foster resilience
