Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details
- Location: Show Low, AZ 85901 (Arizona healthcare jobs)
- Facility Setting: Med Surg/Progressive Care (Stepdown) Unit
- Unit Size: 18 beds (Telemetry with 6 PCU-capable beds, all private rooms)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
- Assignment Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (nights: Friday & Saturday)
- Start Date: November 4, 2025
- End Date: February 3, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1930 - $2070
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Arizona or compact state; willing to wait for license submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Telemetry and Med Surg acute care (2 years preferred)
- Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
- Proficient in cardiac medications: Cardizem, amiodarone, bumex, Lasix, integrillin, octreotide, protonix
- Ability to float to all Medical-Surgical units as needed
- Experience with electronic charting (Allscripts - Sunrise preferred)
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in a Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry setting
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, documenting every 4 hours or as needed
- Administer cardiac and critical medications per physician orders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team: hospitalists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and support staff
- Care for patients with diagnoses including AMI, Stroke/TIA, pneumonia, renal (dialysis), afib RVR, SIRS, and diabetes
- Participate in 2-3 days of orientation with a preceptor
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 (Med Surg), 1:3 (PCU/Stepdown)
- Support infection control and COVID-19 protocols
