Telemetry RN Job Details
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
- Unit: K8 General Surgery – Telemetry
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/7/2025 – End: 3/8/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Dress Code: Navy blue pants, navy blue or white scrub top/jacket, white undershirt if needed
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Telemetry nursing competency
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in telemetry or medical-surgical nursing
- Ability to manage 6-7 patients per shift
- Experience with urology and bowel patient populations preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to a diverse telemetry population, including urology and bowel cases
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond promptly to changes in patient status
- Administer medications and treatments such as TPN, IV antibiotics, and heparin drips
- Perform and manage procedures: wound vacs, tube feeds, PEG tubes, NG tubes, colostomies, urostomies, and various drains
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including providers, CNAs, and unit secretaries
- Document patient care using Cerner EMR
- Float to other medical-surgical units as needed
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and engaging presence on the unit
