Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Somerville, New Jersey (08876) – New Jersey nursing jobs
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel RN contract
- Start Date: December 2, 2025
- End Date: March 3, 2026
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Labor & Delivery (12 beds, 11 rooms)
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active New Jersey or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at submission)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Scrub experience for C-sections required
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Ability to float within skillset as needed
- Availability to work every third weekend and 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Strong clinical skills in triage, high-risk deliveries, and C-section recovery
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide C-section recovery support
- Perform sterile vaginal exams, triage obstetrical patients, and manage central lines
- Administer and monitor medications including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives
- Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education
- Monitor fetal heart rates using EFM and IUPC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy)
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
- Comply with hospital policies, including floating within skillset and attendance requirements
