Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Tupelo, MS 38801 (Mississippi travel nursing jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D RN)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Duration: 13-week travel nurse contract
- Start Date: 11/17/2025 (or any Monday thereafter)
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per month
- Floating: Required within competencies
- Scrub Color: Ceil blue
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- 2-3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital setting
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Mississippi or compact state RN license (Registered Nurse license)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Experience circulating C-sections (no scrubbing required)
- Ability to float to other units within clinical scope
- Must pass Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia (rhythm strip) test (80%+ score)
- Full scheduling flexibility and availability required
- Cannot have worked perm or per diem at NMMC in the last 12 months
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to obstetrical patients, including term, low-risk, preterm, and high-risk pregnancies (HTN, PROM, kidney stones, IUGR, diabetes)
- Care for female obstetric patients and term/low-risk newborns, supporting patient-family centered care
- Circulate for C-sections (no scrubbing required)
- Collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists and OB hospitalists (24/7 coverage)
- Float to other nursing units as needed within your competencies
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, including mask requirements for unvaccinated staff
- Document patient care using Epic EMR (electronic medical record)
