The Cytologist participates in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in the processing and screening of cytologic specimens to detect evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions, ensuring the efficient and accurate testing of patient specimens. Participate in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens, both gynecologic and non-gynecologic, for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions according to departmental terminoloy and protocols including marking abnormalities, rendering diagnoses and determining cases for quality control or subsequent review with pathologist; performs various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols; perform rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using tele-pathology system in the collection, processing and immediate evaluation of Fine Needle Aspirations.
Qualifications
Certifications: Cytologist (CT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 1yr ,
Education:
Certificate of Completion: Cytotechnology; and
Bachelor's Degree: Cytotechnology; or Associate's Degree: Science; or Bachelor's Degree: Science,

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $34.51per hour - $59.36per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
