Overview:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.
Nurses in our PACU (post-anesthesia care unit (also known as recovery room)) care for patients immediately following surgery. Mercy Hospital Southeast OR includes: general, urology, plastics, gyn, orthopedic, neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery specialties.
Our staff provides a comforting environment for patients that have just undergone a surgical procedure. We work alongside preop and OR staff, anesthesia providers, and surgeons to safely provide care to patients in the immediate post-op period.
Experienced RN Incentives:
- Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
- ASN to BSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your BSN (up to $16,000).
- BSN to MSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your MSN (up to $16,000).
New RN Incentives:
- Up to $7,500 Sign-On Bonus
- RN Loan Forgiveness Program to aide in paying off your RN student loan debt.
- Up to $370 per month directly towards loan payments ($20,000 cap).
- Must start with Mercy within 12-months of graduation
Qualifications:
- Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school (BSN, Associate's Degree, or Diploma).
- Licensure: Current RN license within the state of Missouri and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Other unit specific certifications as required.
- Other: Physical requirements/demands:
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
