Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland 21215 (Maryland nursing jobs)
- Unit: ICU Stepdown (IMC) – 36 beds
- Assignment Length: 14 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780-$1910
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Charting System: Cerner
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Intermediate Care (IMC) or Stepdown RN experience (ICU RN experience of at least 1 year may be considered)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TCAR, 16-hour Maryland Trauma Certificate
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Trauma Level II RN experience required; Trauma Level I preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Ability to float to other stepdown units, including Emergency Department (ED)
- Professional references required
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy cardiac stepdown unit
- Manage patients with cardiac, trauma, stroke, medical, and surgical diagnoses: sepsis, pneumonia, atrial fibrillation, ESRD, GI bleed, DKA, neuro, ETOH withdrawal, sickle cell, TB, hypertensive crisis
- Perform advanced clinical skills: arterial line management, cardiac telemetry, ventilator care, central line and chest tube management, rapid response/code team participation, wound care
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, insulin protocols, and blood products
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Participate in ongoing trauma and stroke continuing education (8 hours each annually)
- Float to other units as needed within RN scope
