CVICU RN Job Details
- Location: Peoria, Illinois (61637) – Illinois nursing jobs
- Setting: Acute Cardiac Intermediate Unit (CVICU)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Oct 31, 2025 – Jan 30, 2026)
- Shifts: 12-hour nights (7p–7a), rotating weekends and holidays
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1880-$2020
- Charting System: EPIC
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application) – Registered Nurse jobs in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or Cardiac ICU nursing experience required
- BLS certification (AHA required); ACLS preferred
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, titration of vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
- Ability to interpret cardiac strips and float to ICU as needed
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress healthcare environment
CVICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult cardiac stepdown and ICU patients, including those with advanced cardiac devices and ventilators
- Monitor and titrate cardiac and sedation drips (dopamine, dobutamine, levophed, epinephrine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, propofol, etc.)
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
- Float to ICU and other stepdown units as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR system
- Demonstrate compassion, teamwork, and a positive attitude in all nursing duties
