Delaware North’s Patina Group is hiring a seasonal Broiler Cook to join our team at Banners Kitchen and Tap in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Cook 3, you will showcase your skills and be a visible leader in the kitchen. Partnering with management team members, you will plan menus, deliver food to quality standards, train kitchen team members, operate kitchen equipment, uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations, and monitor the quantities, labor, and overhead costs. This is a part-time seasonal position for working on Bruins and Celtics game days only.

What will you do?
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled or broiled food items such as steaks, burgers, and seafood
- Operate broilers, grills, and other cooking equipment
- Season and marinate meats according to established recipes
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of perishable items
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory, and other duties in accordance with company checklists and procedures
- Keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
- Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
- May be required to perform other duties as needed to support the overall goals and objectives of the team and organization
More about you
- At least 2 years of previous Broiler Cook experience in a fast-paced restaurant
- Participation in a culinary program is preferred
- Knowledge of different cuts of meat and cooking techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
- Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions
Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs to and from freezers and ovens, reach up to seven feet, twist, bend, and squat
- Standing and walking for the entire length of the shift in moderate to high noise levels
- Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids, and operate kitchen equipment
- Exposed to variable temperatures
