PCU RN Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), step-down, or acute care setting
- Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs in the Progressive Care Unit
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Educate patients and families by providing clear explanations and instructions
- Utilize clinical judgment to recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition
- Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records
- Promote a positive healthcare workplace culture through professional communication and conflict resolution
- Participate in continuing education and ensure compliance with core measures and patient care standards
