Job Description:

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
Education:
Experience:
2000 hours direct bedside care in a cardiovascular telemetry or cardiac telemetry unit as a Registered Nurse in the last 3 years – Core Requirement.
1000 hours experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility with medical and cardiac patients within the last 2 years
Certifications/Licensures:
RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Core Requirement
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required prior to completion of orientation to the assigned area
Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018) Required
Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test – Internal Candidates Must Pass Prior to Applying for Position (must be proctored in Human Resources) – Required
NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Certification
Skills:
Core:
Demonstrates competency in the care and management of acute stroke patients and has completed all required stroke education and competency validation.
Demonstrates competency in the management of selected vasoactive and antiarrhythmic agents.
Demonstrates competency in the management and discharge of Observation patients.
Demonstrates competency in the care and management of acute stroke/TIA patients within 12 months.
Maintains on-going competency requirements for stroke care.
Demonstrates competency in the application or use of cardiac pharmacology, vasoactive therapy, temporary and permanent pacemakers and emergency interventions within 12 months.
Must meet core qualifications within 24 months.
Work Shift:
12.0 - 19:00 - 07:30 No Waive (United States of America)
Pay Range:
$83.10 - $113.23Hourly
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
