Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a rotating 10-hour shift position requiring Level 1 trauma, travel, and Epic experience.
Responsibilities
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting with a focus on Level 1 trauma cases
- Patient population includes general surgery, ortho, urology, oncology, neuro, ENT, dental, plastics, cardiovascular thoracic, trauma, and Da Vinci robotics cases
- Uses Epic EMR system; recent Epic experience within 2 years required
- Shifts are 10-hour rotating days and evenings, including weekends and call responsibilities
- Must be flexible with schedule to include coverage for 2 out of these 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Years Day
- No block schedules permitted
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating on a wide range of surgical procedures including trauma and robotics
- Team-oriented environment serving a diverse surgical patient population
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions provided
- Must provide complete work history for consideration
- Holiday coverage required for 2 out of the 4 major holidays listed
- All-season or snow tires recommended for personal vehicles November through April
Requirements
- Active VT or compact RN license required; candidates without a Vermont license must apply within 24 hours of offer
- Minimum of 2 years Operating Room experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Recent Level 1 trauma experience required
- Ability to both scrub and circulate in the OR is mandatory
- Recent (within 2 years) experience with Epic EMR required
- Strong skills in general OR, ortho, urology, oncology, Da Vinci robotics, general surgery, ENT, dental, plastics, neuro, CVT, and trauma cases
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle required due to lack of public transportation
