Job Description
      American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring recent EPIC experience and multiple advanced certifications.
      
            Responsibilities
            - Position is based in a large, academic teaching hospital Emergency Department
- Patient population includes a wide range of emergency cases typical of a high-acuity ED
- 12-hour rotating shifts including evenings and nights
- Schedule requires a minimum of every other weekend with flexibility to adjust for unit and patient needs
- Travelers must work at least 2 out of 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
- No block scheduling permitted
- Bi-weekly orientation occurs on Mondays
- EPIC EMR is used and recent experience (within 2 years) is mandatory
- Primary responsibilities include providing comprehensive emergency nursing care in a busy, high-acuity ED
- Must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
- Candidate must have reliable personal or rental transportation, as public transportation is not accessible in the area
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April due to weather conditions
- Holiday coverage is mandatory as specified by the department requirements
Requirements
      - Active VT or compact state RN license required; willingness to obtain VT license promptly if needed
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, NIHSS
- TNCC proof required prior to start
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience required
- Large facility (500+ beds) and teaching hospital experience is required
- Prior travel nursing experience is required unless candidate has experience at more than one ER and in large teaching facilities
- Recent EPIC charting experience within the past 2 years is required
