Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 18 months of permanent specialty experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Care for adult patients requiring medical-surgical and telemetry level care
- Work schedule consists of 3x12 hour shifts with day/night rotation (7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am); shift may be variable based on hospital needs
- Must work at least every other holiday as part of the schedule
- Orientation includes completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments
- Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Participation in annual and pre-start modules is required
- Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return for one year from previous end date
- Must complete onsite badging and fingerprinting prior to start date
- NICOTINE screening not currently enforced for RN travelers
- Both local and travel candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
Requirements
- Active, permanent OH RN license or compact license at time of consideration
- Minimum of 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Tele specialty experience prior to travel assignments
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required and active at time of consideration
- One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty is required
- Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
- No open background check cases or license hits accepted
