Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift role, requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is on a Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
- Unit features 16 beds with an average daily census of 16 and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Typical patient conditions include post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, peripheral vascular disease, and peritoneal dialysis cases
- Skills utilized include telemetry, EKG, and Doppler
- Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR charting systems
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hour shifts, 19:00-07:00)
- Floating may be required to other Cardiac Telemetry or related units as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Must be available to work up to six weekend shifts per six-week schedule period
- Travelers expected to work assigned major holidays according to facility holiday policy
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First time travelers are accepted for this position
- Maximum of 7 days RTO may be approved, with no holiday RTO unless three holidays fall during assignment
- Modules required for orientation are completed as part of non-billable hours
- Full compliance must be completed prior to start; delayed compliance may postpone assignment start
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 1 year recent Cardiac Telemetry experience required
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Perm and PRN staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
- Two supervisory references (manager or above) highly preferred for consideration
