Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a charge role in a pediatric ICU setting with required charge and Level II trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a combined Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a hospital setting
- Unit has 20 pediatric beds and 8 PICU beds with shared clinical nurse oversight
- Patient population includes general pediatric and critical care cases, with assignments including up to 3 patients (never 3 ventilated patients)
- New trauma patients are assigned 1:1 and less critical patients 1:2 or 1:3 based on acuity
- Night shift is three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00-07:30
- Weekend shifts required, up to every weekend
- Mandatory on-call once per 4-week schedule, though rare in occurrence
- No floating outside the pediatric and PICU units
- Uses Epic EMR; prior Epic experience required
- Primary responsibilities include leading shifts as a charge nurse in the PICU and managing care for pediatric and critically ill patients
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Pre-start online modules (average 4 hours) must be completed before beginning assignment
- Up to 5 days of RTO is preferred per 13-week contract; no holiday RTO permitted between 12/24 and 12/27
- Parking is available for a monthly fee of approximately $25

Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required with charge and Level II trauma experience
- Previous charge nurse experience is mandatory
- Epic charting experience required
- Must complete negative drug and alcohol screening, including THC
