Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details
- Location: Clinton, Maryland 20735 (Washington, D.C. metro area)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 17, 2025
- End Date: February 16, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1590 - $1710
- Shift: 4x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 48
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
- Scrub Color: Ceil Blue (not provided)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Compact RN license or Maryland Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred
- Two (2) supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response/code situations
- Administer medications, including Heparin and Insulin, and manage IVs and PICC lines
- Deliver wound care, colostomy care, feeding tube management, and pre/post hemodialysis care
- Perform blood product administration and phlebotomy as needed
- Float to other Med/Surg Telemetry units as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation using Cerner EMR
- Serve as charge nurse as needed, providing leadership and support to unit staff
