PCU RN Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Location: Englewood, CO 80113 (Denver metro area)
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 10th Floor
- Number of Beds: 20-bed cardiac PCU
- Start Date: September 1, 2025
- End Date: December 1, 2025
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1680
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Colorado or compact state)
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and cardiac nursing experience
- Proficiency with critical care drips: heparin, tikosin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, ketamine
- Experience with chest tubes, pacer wires, 12-lead EKGs, and clinical equipment (telemetry, suction, feeding pumps, bipap/cpap, heated high flow, IV pumps, SCD pumps)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and high-energy attitude
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a 20-bed cardiac Progressive Care Unit
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support
- Administer and titrate critical care drips and medications
- Perform and assist with procedures: chest tube placement/removal, pacer wire removal, 12-lead EKGs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team of RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Document patient care and interventions using Meditech EMR
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging clinical environment for patients and staff
