Registered Nurse – Telemetry Job Details
- Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
- Facility Setting: Acute Care – Cardio Thoracic Telemetry Unit
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Start Date: November 10, 2025
- End Date: March 16, 2026
- Contract Duration: 18 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Charting System: EPIC
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990-$2130
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in process)
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in telemetry, cardiac, or cardio thoracic nursing
- Proficient in EKG interpretation and cardiac medication titration
- Experience with Cardizem and heparin drips preferred
- Ability to float to other general medical units as needed
- Must pass a comprehensive drug screen (OSF is a drug-free campus)
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac and thoracic diagnoses, including MI, CHF, A-fib, COPD, and post-surgical cases
- Interpret EKGs and titrate cardiac drips as required
- Monitor and document patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, patient care techs, and monitor techs
- Utilize and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow oxygen) as appropriate
- Maintain accurate patient records using the EPIC charting system
- Float to other medical units as needed to support patient care
