PCU RN Job Details
- Location: Klamath Falls, Oregon (Zip: 97601) – Oregon nursing jobs
- Facility Setting: Acute Care – Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (1730-0615); every other weekend and holidays required
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1970 - $2110
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Orientation: 1-2 shifts based on experience
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Proficiency in telemetry, cardiac drip titration (insulin, heparin, cardizem, nitro, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine), and basic rhythm interpretation
- Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays
- Professional appearance; no specific scrub color required
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac, post-cath/pacer, pneumonia, COVID-19, ETOH, and ICU downgrade diagnoses
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips with support from remote tele and monitor technicians
- Titrate cardiac and insulin drips according to physician orders
- Collaborate with charge nurse, nurse aides, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Accurately document patient care in Epic EMR
- Participate in unit orientation and comply with department policies
