Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical - Neuro to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess neurology and medical surgical/telemetry experience and be comfortable providing care in a fast-paced environment. The unit is a Certified Stroke Center and a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for adults and geriatrics with neuro-related diagnoses.
- Monitor and manage telemetry patients.
- Administer medications and IV therapy, including blood product administration.
- Assist in pre/post-operative care for neurosurgery patients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient care planning.
- Support patient mobility and rehabilitation efforts in coordination with physical therapy.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with neurology and medical-surgical/telemetry experience.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- NIHSS certification required.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and charting systems, preferably Cerner.
- Preferred certifications: Maryland Approved Trauma Certification, TCRN.
- Familiarity with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line management.
