Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the CNRO Float Pool will support the Emergency Department Holding Unit (EDIP). This role is critical for managing patients located within the Emergency Department who are waiting for inpatient beds, ensuring they receive appropriate medical attention until care can be transferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for adult medical/surgical patients within a fast-paced environment.
- Monitor and manage telemetry patients with a ratio of 1:6-1:7 for MS/Tele and 1:3-1:4 for PCU patients.
- Assist with critical patient care tasks including blood product administration, IV therapy, and central line management.
- Float to ED and MedSurg areas as needed, based on unit requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, pharmacy, and social services to optimize patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience, with traveler experience preferred.
- Required certifications: BLS; preferred certifications include ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI.
- Proficiency in IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, and management of respiratory conditions.
- Experience with high-acuity patients and the ability to interpret dysrhythmias.
