Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Alaska requiring an active AK RN license and 3 years of recent Med-Surg experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a 31-bed Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
Patient assignments follow national standards for nurse-to-patient ratios
12-hour night shifts are required
Every other weekend is required according to contract and department procedures
Use Meditech for charting, OBIX, and Pyxis Supply Stations
Unit provides scrubs for staff
No floating to other units or departments
General medical-surgical nursing duties using the primary nursing model
Meditech and OBIX system training with three-day orientation provided
Unit-specific orientation program included
Medication testing required within the first two weeks onsite
On-call duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements

Active Alaska RN license required
At least 3 years of Med-Surg nursing experience required
BLS and HS AED certifications required
Strong critical thinking skills necessary
