Mammography Technologist Qualifications
- Graduate of a two-year AMA-approved radiologic technology program
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registered Technologist (R) (M) license
- Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) compliance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Mammography (required within 2 years from hire)
- 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- 1 year of experience in Mammography (preferred)
Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform medical mammograms to assist in disease or trauma diagnosis
- Program and operate mammography equipment for optimal imaging quality
- Maintain and follow radiation safety guidelines in all procedures
- Document and perform all QA/QC tests as required by MQSA standards
- Provide mobile mammography services, including weekend shifts as needed
- Ensure compliance and quality standards when assigned to the mobile unit
