Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Oncology RN with BMT experience, a CT or compact RN license, and APHON certification for a night shift assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in a pediatric oncology unit within a Level I Trauma Center
- Float as needed to the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit
- Patient ratio averages 1:3
- Night shifts (4x12 hours, 19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Uses Epic for charting
- 13-week contract assignment
- Must participate in float pool per facility policy
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric oncology and BMT patients
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Return staff must be gone for at least 2 years to be eligible as travelers
- No local candidates accepted within 75 miles of the facility
- Requests for time off longer than 7 days require facility approval
- Scrubs or dress code details will be provided upon assignment
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license or eligibility to obtain before start
- Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric oncology RN experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I trauma or travel experience)
- APHON certification required
- Chemotherapy Administration certification required
- CPHON/CPON certification preferred
- Trauma center experience in a large facility required
- Willingness to complete facility-specific online modules before start
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations permitted
- COVID vaccine with booster required unless medical or religious exemption is granted
- Reference required for consideration
