Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details – Lubbock, TX
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1770-$1900
- Assignment Length: 26 weeks (must continue through May 2026)
- Start Date: November 17, 2025
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: 30-bed Orthopedic Trauma Unit, Level II Trauma Center
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Floating: May float between units and sister facilities as needed
- Weekends: As needed
- Dress Code: Solid navy blue scrubs for RNs
- Parking: Free employee/visitor parking available
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Community hospital experience required
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response/code team participation, and blood product administration
- Skills in wound care, wound vac management, orthopedic trauma, and post-op patient management
- Two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years
- Willingness to float as needed
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a 30-bed orthopedic trauma unit
- Manage post-operative patients, blood administration, wound vacs, and orthopedic trauma cases
- Perform phlebotomy, patient lifting/transfers, and pressure injury prevention
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response
- Document patient care using the Epic EMR system
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and isolation precautions
- Float to other nursing units or sister healthcare facilities as required
- Participate in orientation and complete all required modules prior to start
