Med/Surg RN Job Details

- Start Date: November 3, 2025
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1590 - $1710
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (South Carolina or compact state)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
- PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience required
- Completed at least one travel nursing assignment with current agency
- Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience required (2 years preferred)
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the time of admission
- Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
- Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing staff and clinical support personnel
- Maintain a safe and compliant environment by following hospital safety policies and procedures
- Support team building and efficient workflow within the Med/Surg unit
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
