Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring a WI or compact RN license, recent PICU experience, and proficiency with trach and vent care.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 44-bed surgical, trauma, and medical pediatric critical care unit in a hospital setting
- Caring for patients from neonate through young adult with neurosurgical, surgical, trauma, and medical/respiratory needs
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity
- Uses equipment including oscillators, ICP monitoring, EVDs, and CRRT
- Epic EMR highly preferred
- Required to float first to all inpatient units including critical care, NICU, and acute care
- 12-hour day shifts from 0700 to 1930
- Every other weekend rotation (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- No on-call responsibilities
- May have code phone assignment (training provided)
- Work in a teaching hospital environment with potential student presence
- Required to wear any professional scrubs
- All tattoos must be covered if they are inappropriate or offensive
- Jewelry and hair must not interfere with job performance or safety
- Flu vaccine required with no exemptions allowed
- Holiday work may be required as needed
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license
- Current AHA BLS and AHA PALS certifications
- Minimum of 1 year recent PICU experience
- Must have recent experience caring for patients with tracheostomies and ventilators
