Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department position requiring WI or compact licensure, Trauma Level II experience, and travel nursing background.
Responsibilities
- Work in an 18-bed, Trauma Level II Emergency Department
- Patient population includes trauma, cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory cases
- Patient ratios are typically 3-4 patients per nurse
- Shifts are 12 hours: variable PM/Nights (11:00-23:00 or flex to 14:00-02:00), with PM shifts beginning at 11am or 2pm
- Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- May be required to float to locations in Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley
- On-call required for 12 hours within a 6-week period; 30-minute response time needed
- Uses Epic for charting and Pyxis for medication dispensing
- RNs draw labs and perform nebulizer treatments; lab and RT team are in house
- X-ray staff are available onsite in the ED
- Candidates must demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and strong independent management skills
- Scrub colors are flexible; any color is acceptable
- Travelers may be placed on low census on-call status and called back as needed
- Holiday coverage is required according to unit needs
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS
- Minimum of 5 years RN experience with at least 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level II Emergency Department experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
