Med/Surg RN Job Details – Jackson, TN
- Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift
- Location: Jackson, TN 38301 (West Tennessee healthcare jobs)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing, On-Site
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3x12 per week)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Assignment Length: 13-week contract
- Start Date: November 3, 2025
- Open Positions: 4 Med/Surg RN jobs available
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680–$1800
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
- BLS Certification (required before first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
- Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a hospital setting; 2 years preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and direct LPNs, CNAs, and orientees
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients following individualized care plans
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR
- Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and patient care planning
- Coordinate discharge planning and deliver patient/family education
- Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital safety protocols
- Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff
- Maintain effective communication with physicians, charge nurses, and healthcare team members
- Support team building and contribute to a positive work environment
- Assume charge nurse duties as needed after orientation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
