ER RN Job Details

- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract
- Start Date: November 17, 2025
- End Date: February 16, 2026
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,630–$1,750
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Unit Size: 40-bed Emergency Department, 130 visits per day
- Scrub Color: Purple (not provided)
Emergency Room RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
- Recent experience (within past 8 months) in an ED with at least 125 visits/day
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (required for ER nurse jobs)
- Expertise in triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy
- Charge nurse experience preferred; must be willing to orient and work charge shifts
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Two (2) supervisor references required
ER RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
- Perform triage, initiate IVs, and complete phlebotomy as needed in a fast-paced ER setting
- Prioritize and organize care for a 1:4 patient ratio in a busy Emergency Department
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Orient and function as charge nurse as needed
- Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions
- Care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including ventilator support and dysrhythmia management
- Comply with all facility policies, including mandatory flu vaccination
