Key Job Details – PACU RN Travel Assignment
- Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 9, 2024 – December 9, 2024)
- Healthcare Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (start times between 7am and 11am)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- On-Call: 12 hours per week (as needed by department)
- Weekend Requirements: As needed, per department needs
- Employment Type: Travel RN, W2 contract
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,930–$2,070 per week
PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact eligible
- Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or acute care nursing experience
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- ACLS certification (preferred for PACU nursing jobs)
- Strong assessment, clinical, and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts and participate in on-call rotation
PACU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in a clinical setting
- Monitor patient recovery, vital signs, and manage pain control
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and ensure patient safety
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition
