Schedule
Night shift, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00. Every other weekend required.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our 5N Medical Surgical Oncology unit. The ideal candidate will have a background in oncology nursing, though this experience is preferred and not required. Responsibilities include the administration of chemotherapy, managing patient care, and monitoring for oncologic emergencies. The nurse will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and manage treatment protocols.
- Monitor patients for complications and provide intervention for oncologic emergencies.
- Utilize IV therapy and central line management skills in patient care.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and symptom management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
- Current RN License.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; ONS chemotherapy certification preferred.
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred.
