Travel RN Job Details – Clinton, MD
- Location: Clinton, Maryland 20735 (Washington, D.C. metro area)
- Healthcare Setting: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital
- Unit: High Risk Labor & Delivery
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 10, 2025
- End Date: February 9, 2026
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1890–$2030
- Call Requirement: 24 hours per 6-week period (on premises within 45 minutes of call)
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend/holiday as needed
- Float Requirement: Float to similar units (e.g., Mom/Baby); travelers float before permanent staff
- Scrubs: Provided
- Charting System: Cerner
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Maryland or compact state (required for Maryland nursing jobs)
- Minimum 2 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
- Must register for C-EFM during compliance or within first two weeks (C-EFM through NCC preferred)
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Two supervisor references required
- Ability to circulate, perform fetal heart monitoring (FHM), precept, and/or charge
- Triage experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Local candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns in a high-risk Labor & Delivery environment
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and circulate for C-sections
- Recognize and manage abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Triage obstetrical patients and manage antepartum complications
- Float to related units such as Mom/Baby as needed
- Serve as preceptor and/or charge nurse as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document patient care using Cerner electronic medical record system
