Position: Neuro Cardiac Unit MS/Tele RN – Nights
Shift: DAYS & NIGHTS AVAILABLE
Location: Newburgh, IN (Must live 40+ miles away — no local candidates)
Contract Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Dates: 11/3 or 11/17
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (48-hour option available upon request)
Weekend & Holiday Rotation
- Weekends: 3 weekends per 6-week schedule
- Holidays: Every other holiday
Certifications (Must Be Attached at Submission)
- Active Compact RN License
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Experience Requirements
- Minimum:
- 2 years strong Tele/Med-Surg experience
- 1 completed travel assignment
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Preferred: Charge nurse experience
- Charting: Recent EPIC experience required (checkoff class required)
Patient Population & Skill Requirements
- Patient Types:
- Complex Med/Surg/Tele patients
- Post cardiac caths with interventions
- CVA/TIA, ICD patients
- Complex abdominal surgeries (open bellies/colons)
- Oncology patients
- Craniotomy post-op day 2
- Required Skills:
- NIHSS / dysphagia screen / strong neuro assessment skills
- Telemetry & 12-lead EKG interpretation (must pass Tele tests)
- Initiate/titrate drips (insulin, cardiac, heparin, etc.)
- Heart cath recovery (femoral & TR bands)
- Strong assessment & critical thinking
- Preferred Skills:
- NG/PEG tube management
- PIV insertion
- Tikosyn dosing
- Chest tube management

- Beds: 32
- Ratios:
- Days: 1:4–5 (6 is very rare)
- Nights: 1:6–7
- Charge Nurse: Carries patient assignment on all shifts
