Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 1 RN Psych to join our team in Unit 3900. The candidate will perform intake assessments, create nursing care plans, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver exceptional health care to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
- Make nursing diagnoses based on the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options.
- Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer and document reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
- Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
- Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
- Test vital signs and ensure pain treatments are administered appropriately.
- Document all patient information in medical charts and follow physician's written orders.
- Ensure patient confidentiality.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing and completing progress notes in the computer system.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- RN License (New York License ONLY)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
- CPI Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field
