- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- On Call Requirement: Yes, every other week
- Floating Requirement: May float to Med/Surg Telemetry if not needed in OR
- Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:5
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact state (NM RN license)
- BLS certification required (Basic Life Support)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience or related clinical nursing specialty
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience with orthopedic surgery, joint replacements, fracture care, shoulder procedures, and podiatry cases preferred
OR RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic and related surgical procedures
- Utilize the nursing process for patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments per hospital protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in the electronic health record
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on surgical procedures, recovery, and post-operative care
- Float to Med/Surg Telemetry as needed and participate in on-call rotation
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrate leadership by assigning and delegating tasks appropriately within the clinical team
