Job Summary:
Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RN for a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in high-acuity care, with experience in neuro, vascular, thoracic, and neurosurgical patient populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor and manage life-sustaining equipment such as ventilators, IV drips, and telemetry.
- Respond to rapid changes in patient condition with critical thinking and decisive action.
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes.
- Follow all hospital protocols, infection control standards, and patient safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience – REQUIRED
- Experience with neuro, vascular, thoracic, and neurosurgical ICU patients – REQUIRED
- Must be comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced critical care setting
- Strong communication, time management, and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to float to other units as needed (per facility policy)
Certifications Required:
- BLS (AHA) – Required
- ACLS (AHA) – Required
