Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Chicago, IL 60631 (Norwood Park)
- Healthcare Setting: 30-bed Neuro Stroke/Cardiac Stepdown Unit
- Assignment Duration: 10 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 12/27/2025)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
Estimated Weekly Pay
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1470 - $1570 per week
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Nursys verification required) – Illinois nursing jobs preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Neuro Stepdown, or acute care nursing
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
- Skilled in performing EKGs and cardiac monitoring
- Willingness to float to similar healthcare units as needed
- Availability to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- Strong communication and patient care skills
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-stroke, neuro interventional, and cardiac stepdown patients
- Monitor and assess patients, including telemetry and stepdown unit ratios (1:4 SDU, tele 1:5-6)
- Perform EKGs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Document all care and interventions accurately in EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to similar nursing units as required
- Comply with hospital policies, including sick call and holiday coverage requirements
