Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg float pool night shift position requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least two years of med/surg experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg float pool
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Night shifts: 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00PM - 7:30AM), including some weekends and holidays
- Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5
- Care for a varied adult Med/Surg patient population
- Uses EPIC EMR, with prior EPIC experience required
- Provide high-quality nursing care to a range of Med/Surg patients
- Must be available to float to additional units as necessary
- Holiday coverage is required according to unit needs
- Locals are accepted for this position
- RTO must be declared and approved before contract begins
- Former employees are eligible if at least 6 months have passed since last employment
- Current employees of the specified health system are not eligible as travelers
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Current BCLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years' recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly
- Two professional references required, one from a supervisor or manager
